About the shop
Where is the shop and how do I find it?
We are on the highway service road near the flyover in Amravati. Look for our roadside board with a red arrow and follow it to the shop. If you are not sure, send us a WhatsApp message on +91 7588870013 and we will guide you to the door.
What are the hours?
We are open every day from 9 am to 9 pm, Sundays included. Walk in any time in those hours for paint, free colour advice or a quick shade check. If you are coming late in the evening or need something urgent, call us on +91 8010360752 first and we will keep it ready.
Do you deliver?
Yes. We deliver to homes and work sites in and around Amravati. Send us your list and address on WhatsApp, we will confirm what is in stock and when it can reach you. For heavy items like putty bags and big paint buckets, home delivery saves you the trouble of carrying them.
Can you arrange painters?
Yes, we can put you in touch with painters who work around Amravati. Tell us the size of the job and when you want to start, and we will suggest someone. The painter agrees the labour rate directly with you. We stay available for product questions while the work is going on.
Do you give dealer prices on big orders?
Yes. As an authorised Birla Opus dealer we sell at dealer prices. For bigger orders, like a full house, a building or a contractor's job, ask us and we will work out the best rate we can. Bring your list or send it on WhatsApp and we will give you a clear quote before you pay for anything.
Can I see shades before buying?
Yes, please do. We keep Birla Opus shade cards and colour books at the shop, so you can compare shades side by side and pick the one that suits your room. Our colour advice is free. Before you buy the full quantity, ask us about trying a small sample patch on your own wall.
Choosing colours
How do I pick a colour for a room?
Start with what is already in the room: the floor, the furniture, the curtains and the light that comes in. Pick a colour that goes with those things, not against them. Lighter shades suit rooms where you rest, stronger shades suit a single wall you want to show off. Bring photos of the room and we will help you choose.
Which colours make a small room look bigger?
Light, soft shades make a small room feel open, especially whites, creams, light greys and pale blues. Keep the ceiling lighter than the walls and use the same or a close shade on all four walls, so the eye does not stop at the corners. Dark colours pull the walls inward, so save them for a small highlight.
Should the ceiling be white?
White is the safe choice and it is what most homes use. It bounces light around the room and makes the ceiling feel higher. If you want something softer, a very light tint of the wall colour also works well. Keep bright or dark ceilings for special spots like a prayer corner or a kids' room.
How do I test a shade before painting the whole wall?
Paint a patch about the size of a notebook on the actual wall, in a spot that gets both daylight and evening light. Let it dry fully, because wet paint looks different. Look at it in the morning, in the afternoon and under your bulbs at night. If it still feels right after a day, go ahead.
What is the difference between matt and sheen finishes?
Matt has no shine. It hides small bumps and marks on the wall and gives a calm, soft look, so it suits bedrooms and ceilings. Sheen has a light glow. It is easier to wipe clean and shows off a smooth wall, so it suits living rooms, kitchens and kids' rooms. We can show you both at the shop.
Products
What is the difference between interior and exterior paint?
Interior paint is made for walls inside the house. It focuses on a smooth look, soft colours and easy cleaning. Exterior paint is made for outside walls that face sun, rain and dust, so it is built to resist weather and fading. Do not swap them. Tell us which walls you are painting and we will give you the right one.
Do I need primer and putty?
For a good finish, yes. Putty fills small holes and levels the wall so it feels smooth to the hand. Primer seals the surface and gives the paint something to hold on to, so the colour comes out even and does not peel. Skipping them saves a little money now but shows in the result.
What is distemper and when is it enough?
Distemper is a simple, low cost wall paint that gives a plain matt look. It is enough for rooms you will repaint soon, rented spaces, store rooms, staircases or a quick freshen up before a function. For the main rooms of your home, where you want the colour to stay fresh and wipe clean, choose an emulsion instead.
What is waterproofing and when do I need it?
Waterproofing is a coating that stops water from getting into walls, roofs and bathrooms. You need it when you see damp patches, peeling paint, white powder on the wall, or seepage after rain. It should go on before the paint, not after. The Birla Opus Alldry range is made for this. Ask us which product fits your problem.
What is enamel used for?
Enamel is a hard, glossy paint for things that get touched, knocked and washed a lot. Use it on doors, window frames, grills, gates, railings, metal furniture and kitchen shelves. It dries to a smooth, shiny skin that wipes clean. It is not meant for plastered walls. We stock enamels in ready shades for both wood and metal.
Which Birla Opus range should I choose: One, Calista or Style?
Think of them as three levels. One is the luxury range, for the best finish and the richest look in your main rooms. Calista is the premium range, a good middle choice for most homes. Style is the economy range, for budget jobs, rentals and rooms you repaint often. Tell us your budget and the room, we will match the range to it.
Warranty and after sales
How do I register the Birla Opus warranty?
You register it yourself with Birla Opus, within 15 days of buying the paint. Call the Birla Opus helpline on 1800 120 1234 or register on the Birla Opus website. Keep your tax invoice from our shop ready, because the details on it are needed. If you get stuck, bring the invoice to us and we will help you through the steps.
What should I keep after buying?
Keep the tax invoice safely, it is your proof of purchase and the warranty depends on it. Also keep the lids or labels of the paint buckets, which show the exact shade and batch, so touch ups later match. A photo of the invoice on your phone is a good backup if the paper fades.
What if there is a problem after painting?
Call us or message us on WhatsApp with a photo of the wall. Most issues come from the surface, the mixing or the drying time, and we can usually tell you what went wrong and how to fix it. If it is a product issue and your warranty is registered, we will guide you on raising it with Birla Opus.
